Why A Mom’s Life Guide

I always knew I wanted to have kids and have a career. That was the easy decision. I thought the perfect age would be 27 to actually have a baby. Boy was I wrong. That did not happen and took longer then I expected.

The reason I share this story is to show how my journey, like yours, to motherhood and a career (or business I didn’t know would happen) might not be what you expected.

That can lead to confusion, frustration, and feel like you are drowning in both parts of your life. It does not have to be that way.

Being a Mom is Not the Only Thing That Defines You

I spend the majority of my work life by myself and see my kids in the morning, pickup from school, afternoons, and sometimes in the evenings.

Having limited time to work on my business, life goals, rest, and be present with my kids is something I know other moms struggle with too.

When I had my first kid, I wanted to be with him, and did not want to go back to my work schedule in my business. I had no real way to do that and it stressed me out. I felt bad for having these feelings.

At the same time when I was with my son I had feelings of wanting to be at work and do what I enjoyed as well. Choosing one over the other was not going to work either.

Understanding that I am mom now, but that does not define me completely in my life, is my reality and that is okay to accept and will actually help me be a better mom.

Being Scared of Money and Avoiding it will Stress You Out More

My own mother was a stay at home mom and that is all I saw. I did not want to be like that because I watched the insecurity she had towards herself and money.

Watching that lead me to be nervous about money and to be afraid to spend it. I know I am not alone in thinking this way. I am not alone in feeling this way and it holds you back from looking at the numbers to know what your financial situation.

Growth in your life like being in a relationship and having kids can complicate things when it comes to money. It seems easier to focus on those two things then finances but it still causes stress.

Saving Money Should Be Part of Your Routine

Look it can be easy to say save your money but mom life with a job or business can make you willing to buy food for convenience. I have done it too.

The reality is you see your bank account and wonder what happened to the money you thought was there. It becomes this vicious cycle that you play with the money you make and leads to not getting ahead as much as you would like.

Saving is not a bad word but it is something you think can be done later, while you deal with more pressing concerns like your kids and getting a meal on the table and bedtime.

These are the words I have said to myself as well. However, what is later? five months from now or five years it will cause you stress nonetheless.

I think of saving as a way to help give you security when things comes up that impact your work like a sick kid or partner.

My Mom Life Experiences Are A Guide to Help Moms

I have experienced having a husband with chronic medical issues and it is concerning as well as stressful when I think about money.

That is one of the reasons I started this blog was to help other moms, as well as myself, not be scared of finances and have the confidence to go after the things you want.

If I had known it was okay to start a business on the side while working I would have done it a long time ago.

A Mom’s Life Guide is here to help encourage ideas you may have as well as share other areas of mom life that can hold you back in personal and professional(business) ways.

Here is to rocking mom life and the financial life you deserve and saving time on getting to it.
